he's a gopher carrier pigeon!!!

Fin has officially reached the funny stage of gopher/carrier pigeon. He will take messages back and forth bn Bill & I and do little tasks we ask him to do. It is so cute-and actually really helpful!

he is speaking full sentences now. he is pretty much way ahead of most other 2 yrs olds. it is a little creepy. but gma said that Bill talked very early too so we are not totally surprised. but other people sure are when they meet him. he continues to learn new words and phrases everyday and say them to himself like practicing-it is so endearing. and then sometimes when he gets excited-he tries so hard to say something-he stutters and it all comes out garbeled then he triesd again and gets it right! many baby words are transforming into real words-pizza is now pizza not "peets-eats". we were sad to hear that oen go away-it was so cute.

Fin is also saying number s and ABCs really well. there even appears to be some comprehension-it is not all just memorization. he can reliably say his numbers up to 14 and actually count things up to 4.

we have hade an incredibly fun summer w Finley. he loves playing in his kiddie pool and sandbox. he will spend long evenings doing that an dthen running back into my garden and picking various tomoatoes (red & green!) and barriers and eating them. then he'll randomly run over and start kicking a ball. he is a little soccer super star, a very good ball kicker, passer, and juggler like soccer players-of course Bill is thrilled and I am just amazed.

His hair has lightened up from summer sun and it is a gorgeous golden brown, red color. and his skin is golden brown-I am not trying to brag but he is just beautiful.

we changed his crib to a bed by taking off the front rail. he is doing rgeat with this change. we had to out a latch on his door so he can't open it himself and he only fell out of bed one or 2 nights so we put a pillow on the floor so he doesn't get hurt.

we had some play dates this weekend and Fin has so much fun with all his little girl friends. we don;t know any parents of boysd his age yet. we parents have fun at the pay dates too-good food & drink & cool friends make that possible.

there have been some ups and downs lately b/c we are house hunting and and that is a difficult and stressful process but Fin has come with us on most of the showings so that has helped us have fun and put thigns in perspective. we had found a house last weekt hat we reaslly loved and was great for our family-they sellers accepted our offer so we started celebrating-we were thrilled to be done with the search and the stress but then an horu latyer we got a call that a cash offer had come in for the house and the sellers recinded their accepatnce of our offer. we were devastated-and still are actually. it was a beautful home, perfect for our family and Finley growing up and it was totally in our price range. so we are trying really hard to see a silver lining in this-and we are going out on another search today to view homes. I wish more than anything that it was over and we had that house. but life is never straighforward.
