We had a blast the other night when a few friends & fam came over for dinner to celebrate my bday! it was really special an I loved seeing everyone. Bill & the Burns men (Kev & Bob) built us a new deck. My dad & unc John helped demolish the old one. it was a hazard for finley with so many splinters and dangerous old stairs. so for my bday i now have a great new deck that is perfect for our little family. the yard feels much bigger b/c the new deck is a bit smaller and does not have big cluncky rails. I really like the new look and I am excited to plant flowers & grass around the new deck.


on wednesday night uncle Matt did not have to work so we got to hang out in the backyard. we waited for daddy Bill to come home from his soccer game and we grilled uncle Matt's famous turkey burgers and aunt "JuJu" made delish grilled corn. it was a little cold out but we had fun anyway. the sun was shining and we had a lovely sunset. Finley loves running around the yard in the evenings after work/school. we spend most of our eves out side if it is not raining.

isn't he a cutey? the fire is cozy but Finley has to learn how HOT it is. so we made a circle of rocks all around the chiminea to show him that he can not get any closer to the hot! I hope this works.

Grandpa Kurt & auntie Hannah. instead of a cake we had dairy queen blizzards! YUMMY! I love blizzards so much-what a super treat.
we went to Logan's first soccer game of the year on a lovely saturday morning. the weather was incredible. sunny and almost 80 degrees by 1pm! we all had to wear sunscreen. Uncle Kevin is the coach. then we headed back to the grandma Joy's and Papa Bob's house for lunch & a fun bday celebration. Finley had a bad encounter with a table up in the living room. the result was Finley's first black-eye but he toughed it out and decided he wanted to keep playing anyway. we were a little worried but decided to go for it if he wasn't crying anymore. the basement rec room is so much fun. Bill got a sweet ELMO t-shirt and Finley just loves it. Of course the devilish look Finley is giving us here says "mommy-I am about to climb up on this table even tho I know i am not supposed to!"
Finley looks like a sweety but he is actually a bit of a bully. here he is tackling his cousin and just sitting/laying on top of him while Landon squeals and cries. we ended up having to pull Fin off Landon. Finley thought this was a great game. he better look out b/c someday Landon is going to get him back!
Oh yeah! just look at this cute little cousin Landon! he's thinking about climbing up on the table too! what bad little boys. How do they know exactly what Gma does NOT want them to do?
Leah & mike and their 3 bundles of joy came out to the lake for some family time. they have an amazing 3-tiered jogging stroller that fits all 3 babies! how cool.
Finley's first ice cream cone! way to go Gma rich. of course he just adored it and wanted more more more. he gave Augie a big chunck of icecream then thoroughly enjoyed the cone! yummy
LOOK at me! I am the cutest! TADA I have big boy shoes on.

Uncle Kurt & Aunt Kelly came to Mi for a visit! yeah it was so much fun to play ball with unc KJ!We had a lovely wedding shower party for Kelly in West Bloomfield at this beautiful 1900 -era graceful country club building. we had excellent food and lots of fun. it was a bit fo rainy cold night but that did not stop us from having a great time. the bride-to-be got lots of beautiful gifts and many good wishes.
what a beautiful weekend we had in early April. the sun was out and we had some weird april showers that cleared up and left us a double rainbow over the lake. it looked like it ended in uncle Ed's yard. too bad there was no pt of gold. we could all really use that right now.
