Busiest months ever??

So much has happened in our lives since my last post right before Fin's birthday. I can't believe it.

This is probably not in perfect chronologic order but here goes a list anyway.

walking and running only days to weeks after his first steps!!! Finley got very good at walking very fast.

climbing on furniture and up into chairs!!! ugh. scarey for mom but he is determined.

first poop in the bath! yes this really happened an I laughed so hard. it was on the morning of his school pictures so we were hurrying and I put him in the bath before his normal morning poop in his diaper. and of course he pooped in the tub and almost grabbed the floating poo! needless to say it was mayhem.

mom goes on first business trip with since birthing Finley. mom is very sad and anxious and never wants to leave baby again. also mom has the misfortune of forgetting her breastpump so boobs are very full and very uncomfortable for 3 days but milk supply does not dry up so Finley is still nursing.

not sure why mom is talking in 3rd person??? weird.

Finley finally got more teeth-the top 2 middle teeth popped thru on October 16th. and Fin had a fever but then it turns out he was getting sick and when mom got home from the business trip she picked up her lovely son and he barfed on her!!!

then mom, dad, grandma joy and baby all were sick for 3 days with pukes and fevers and otherwise terrible feelings.

Finley had very bad diaper rashes in October. blisters and yeast infection-very very bad. and had to go on his first antibiotics (Kelfex).

wen went to visit aunt sudi up in traverse city. we had a very nice visit but Finley did not do well in the car ride after about 3 hours.

weather records were set with 2, 90 degree days in October!!! global warming in my backyard again!!

first words for Finley are car & dog. still saying yaya or taya for the dog Kaia. he also seem to be saying "down" at the dog. he hears this about 10 times during dinner every night as we yell at the dog to lay down and not beg for food. Finley is also calling both me and his dad, DaDa. funny. I think he refers to my boobs as mamanana with much emphatic pointing of the finger and then the running hug with a casual wipe of boogers all over the front of my shirt. how endearing!!!

Finley points at many things and asks questions in his wookie language-we have no idea what he is saying but he gets the inflection right.

he started using sign language spontaneously back in early september. the sign for "more", "milk", "play" were the first few. now he sort of uses the sign for "more" to be for anything he wants whether it is milk or food or toys or his mom!! it is pretty cute. altho right now it seems like the "more" sign may be morphing into hand clapping when he wants something. I am not sure what I think about this.

lately when Finley is ready to eat, he runs over to his high chair and starts hitting ti or trying to climb up into it himself. very dangerous! as far as food goes-he is still pretty good about eating balanced meals with veggies, fruit and some sort of grain or protein but last week he came home from school with some unfinished foods so he may be starting t get picker. we'll see how it goes this week.

he ate a while piece of pizza the other night and a whole quesadilla today!!

Finley dances and claps all the time when he hears music with a good beat. he also showed us that eh can dance in circles! it is pretty funny to see him lose his balance when he gets dizzy.

today he got his first pair of "bigboy" shoes with hard soles. he has been wearing the leather baby-trainer shoes for the past few months but now that he is walking so much he ruins the soft-bottomed shoes within a few weeks so I figured it was time for the next step.

this week is halloween and we got him a cute little lion costume. i'll post photos late this week.
